Stevie Williams bit the hand that fed him
Stevie Williams recently said he wanted to shove his “win” with Adam Scott at the Bridgestone Invitational in August up Tiger’s “black ass.” This is wrong on so many levels, and racism is just one of them. No one outside the golf community would know who Stevie Williams was if it wasn’t for Tiger. Stevie Williams is filthy rich, because of Tiger. The fact that Williams even refers to Adam Scott’s August win at the Bridgetone Invitational as his own win is ridiculous.
After the Bridgestone win, Williams said, “I have been caddying for more than 30 years now and that is the best win of my life. A lot has been said and it is great to back it up. I back myself as a frontrunner as a caddie and I have won again.” There is no way that was truly his “best win of his life,” he won 14 majors with Tiger and that is his best win? C’mon now. I thought that was as controversial and simply stupid as a caddie could get, but Williams proved me wrong with his recent racist remarks.
Williams has, most likely, talked himself out of ever caddying again in the PGA, which is sad. He obviously has some talent, and if he were a little smarter, he would still be with Tiger. Williams does deserve some respect for staying with Tiger during the mistress situation and not spilling any beans. However, his motives in doing that now seem to have been purely monetary and not friendly at all.
Stevie Williams shouldn’t have bitten the hand that fed him, plain and simple.
