Get The Day Rolling with this INTENSE Live Recording of “Two Step” by DMB from 2010

By: Alex Marcheschi

Dave Matthews is definitely one of my top five favorite musical artists alive right now. His acoustic stuff with Tim Reynolds is my favorite, but I basically love everything he does. The best part about the Dave Matthews Band is that they’re the only band who’s live concert recordings are actually better than the studio recordings. And this is because Dave absolutely lays it all on the line during these concerts. Live intros to DMB songs are my lifeblood.

The first two minutes and thirty seconds of this song are, no joke, the most intense two minutes and thirty seconds of any song I’ve ever heard. Those lyrics aren’t part of the studio recording. I think Dave was really going through it during this concert at Citi Field in 2010 because you could hear it in his voice. He’s literally screaming, “I want to believe in Jesus” at the top of his lungs. Gotta respect that type of transparency from a superstar artist. Let’s try to tackle the day with like 1/5 of that passion.
